Premarital Preparation

For a price more affordable than most wedding photographers, our Premarital Prep program offers 6 weeks of specifically designed sessions and assignments to set your marriage up for success!

Before making one of the biggest (if not THE BIGGEST) commitments in your life, it’s wise to invest in your future by completing our premarital preparation program.

PLEASE NOTE: this is not counseling or therapy. Though I’m a licensed mental health professional, this service is specifically designed as a collaborative psych-educational process. The Premarital Prep Program consists of the following:

After enrolling in the program, the first step is independently completing your Premarital Assessment. You will each receive a link to the assessment, delivered to the email addresses provided when you sign up. It’s crucial you complete this component separately and DO NOT discuss your answers with each other prior to our first appointment.

Once both of you have completed the assessment, we will schedule our first session to discuss the results. During this session, we’ll provide you with a copy of your Couples Report, outlining your areas of strength and growth (as well as a ton of additional info). We will then map out the structure of your remaining sessions based on the results of your assessment.

Each couple has unique strengths and areas of growth, so every Premarital Prep program is customized to fit your specific needs. The remaining 5 sessions will be designed specifically to address topics that will most benefit your relationship as you enter into marriage.

Each session is 50 minutes long and we will meet virtually. Yes, homework will be assigned in between sessions, but it should be a fun opportunity to explore and talk about your relationship. During the session, we will cover the homework, address the specific topic for that week, and assign the topic for the next session.

After 6 sessions, you will know so much more about each other and feel much more prepared to take the plunge into marriage. In fact, we are so confident that you will value the program, we offer a 100% money back guarantee if you feel you did not receive the expected value.

What can I expect from the Premarital Preparation Program?

  • Premarital Assessment

The first step is completing the Premarital Assessment. You will each independently complete and online assessment. Plan to carve out at least 45 minutes to an hour to make sure you don’t rush through the process.

  • Premarital Sessions

    6 sessions, 50 minutes each.

Your premarital sessions are NOT therapy/counseling. We are not going to be diagnosing or “treating” anything. These are psych-ed based sessions to address your areas of strength/growth, family dynamics, and other specific areas related to developing and maintaining a healthy marriage.

See below for a general overview of what to expect throughout the program.

6 Sessions, Designed Specifically for YOU

1st Session

During the first session we begin by reviewing your Couples Report based on the results of your Premarital Assessment. From there, we collaboratively design the next five sessions based on your assessment results, as well as areas we feel are most beneficial in preparing for life-long marriage.

5 Additional Sessions

Each 50-minute session will address a specific topic each week based on the goals created in our first session. Topics include areas such as communication, conflict resolution, money, intimacy, and much more.

Homework

Yes, there’s homework each week, but not like the kind you got in school. Each week, we will assign a specific assignment based on the upcoming topic for the next session. The assignments are designed to help you discuss the topics in greater detail and engage in focused conversation/exploration of important topics related to developing/maintaining a healthy marriage.
